Research

Research is an integral part of Calgary's 10 year plan to end homelessness. We are committed to the collection, demonstration and dissemination of best practices in ending homelessness. The success of this bold initiative will be dependent on our ability to expand, co-ordinate and deepen our research capabilities so that we can gain a detailed understanding
of homelessness in Calgary and across Canada.

In order to make good evidence-based decisions, high-quality information is required — information that:
• Is relevant to policy makers.
• Is applicable to those on the frontline delivering services.
• Enhances our capacity to effectively improve and strengthen services.
• Strengthens the potential for bringing about an end to homelessness within the next ten years.

By creating a continuous feedback loop through research and evaluation, we can ensure we are on the right track. This will not only contribute to our capacity to establish best practices locally, but also build the case for interventions and cost efficiency, and enable us to clearly articulate
outcomes.
